I have seen a lot, read a lot, experimented with numerous training modes (via personal torture and while training athletes and clients), spoken to some of the best minds in the industry, written and expressed my two cents in print and on the web, and diligently attempted to keep pace with the plethora of information and research that is disseminated daily, literally.
On that last point, the Internet Machine has led to an explosion of immediate information. No more waiting for the latest book, quarterly journal, or weekly newsletter to arrive in print form. There are thousands of web sites that proffer instant “anything you're looking for” information relative to fat loss, strength gain, muscle hypertrophy, improved fitness, becoming faster, better health, and proper food intake, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam. As a result, there is a large ocean replete with both ends of the continuum: from the science-based good, practical, and safe on one end and the bad, ineffective, and dangerous on the other end. In the middle, of course, lies the "works for some but not others," "got good results," "got some results," and “it didn’t kill me, so I am good” stuff. The bottom line: who is telling the truth, what is B.S., who can you trust, and what really works?
As one of the many voices out there babbling about this and that, I feel the need to at least offer sound, safe, and result-producing advice. Within the confines of my education, experience, and legal status to do so (e.g., I am not a registered dietician) I will do that here. There will be those who hopefully benefit from what I spew. There will be those who think, “blah, blah, blah, been there, done that.” There will also be those who think I’m full of hyena feces. I’m good with that because I could just sit on my tush and do nothing, but I need to keep moving while I remain above ground.
Thank you for coming here and stay tuned for the initial spewing of info.
